Venice Heritage Museum: Celebrating & Preserving Venice's History
A long time coming, Venice Heritage Museum at 228 Main St. is dedicated to the beachside neighborhood founded in 1905 by Abbott Kinney and features photos along with a rich archive of other materials relevant to Venice Beach’s history as a hub for artists, surfers, and skateboarders. It opened in its permanent location in March 2024.
As the museum was preparing for its opening, I was happy to sit down for an interview detailing my arrival to Venice in 1992 as I was seeking to be part of a greater artist community.
Please enjoy my interview and visit the Museum’s website to learn of ongoing exhibits and events, and consider supporting the Museum.
